So who really reads this?

Over the past couple months I have been seriously slacking on my personal posts!
I really don’t know what happened, but one day it kind of hit me.
People can read my blog!!!?!
People besides my MOM!
And then I got terribly nervous.

A lil background on me. I consider myself a shy person.
I tend to keep to myself and really I am a hard egg to crack.
I just dont do "insta friends".
I either click with you or I don’t.
I prefer genuine meaningful relationships,

and I try and put a lot of thought & effort into those friendships. =)
It’s just how I work.

So then this lil world known as the Internet kind of threw me for a loop!
You know -Twitter, Face book, Blogs, everything is putting yourself out there.
So when I had my lil realization that people could judge know me via my blog,

I kind of went into hibernation.

It's crazy how a blog can connect you to people, and how much you can learn about a person through their blog, astounding really. But it became a fear of mine.
So I apologize, I let my insecurities get the best of me! And I hate that!
I finally realize that I am not going to make everyone happy,

and people will hate me who don’t even know me
(and frankly I have haters that I know exactly who they are)

Such is life.

My point being Interweb Peeps, I am going to start being more open and honest.
Take it or leave it. =)

Starting with my new posts called "Life as a..."

It will include a bevy of projects, ideas, inspiration and such =)
I am sooo excited to start sharing all these things with my lovely blog readers!

A fun sneak peek from a recent Engagement shoot =) Cannot wait to blog this one!

Heather & Neil

The first time I actually "met" Heather & Neil was via Skype!

But for some reason my camera was the only one that would work,

so for the next 45 minutes I chatted away at my blank computer screen

laughing and joking with myself :)

I can only imagine what Heather & Neil thought only being able to see me... lol.

I didn't really know what to expect, except I knew these two would be awesome!

Right away Neil had suggested we start the engagement shoot at his Uncle's pottery studio, which was where he brought Heather on one of their first dates =)

I have a whole different perspective on pottery now, wow, it is hard!!!

But Neil is a seasoned pro, and Heather has taken on his fun hobby as well.

After we recreated the "Ghost" scene (I KID People. I KID!)

we headed down to Hermosa Beach!

The waves were insane that day, but the beach was beautiful!

Heather & Neil I cannot wait for your big day, just a few short weeks away =) Enjoy!

15 Minutes

I feel like I need to preface this with saying that I feel extremely lucky

& blessed to have had this opportunity.

then you know that I was backstage @ this years Golden Globes!

I need to say a HUGE thank you to my lovely friend Jordana for referring me for the job,

& also thank you to Ala(The Modern Type)

for helping me schlep, setup, and oggle all the celebs :)

I am forever grateful.

I did a "Photobooth-esque" setup for the show EXTRA (you know- how they sing it-Extra!) lol...

Anyway it was super face paced since the celebrities would come in and get interviewed

for a couple minutes and then pose with Mario for like maybe a min! Crazy Fast!

But it was still soooo ridiculously fun! So I wanted to share some of the photos =)

I think the best part was seeing Michael C. Hall hug is out with John Lithgow right after he won!

I am a HUGE Dexter fan, so that alone made the night FABULOUS!

They aired some of the footage last night on Extra, and the rest will be on tonight

Again I feel very lucky to have had this opportunity, and just wanted to share,

hopefully you arent bothered with my ranting :)

Stephanie & Jordan. The Day

Tears streamed down their faces as they read their vows to each other.

They were REAL vows, vows of hope, love, honesty and laughter.

They went back and told their story, of how best friends fell in love ;)

I was weeping along with them in the beautiful ballroom @ the El Cortez

as they shared and declared their love!

Stephanie & Jordan's Wedding was such an amazing celebration of them,

it wasn't a typical wedding in any way, shape or form and that is exactly how it should be!!!

We started off the day at the beautiful W Hotel in Downtown San Diego

and shot all of the pictures before the ceremony, literally ALL of them =)

Jordan was in awe of his bride during their first look,

it was the most beautiful thing,

its moments like that - that truly make me so honored to do my job!

Steph was a bride after my own heart, she was all about the details :)

lil touches that were soooo "them" , it was RAD!!! Yes RAD!!!

Mismatched Bridesmaids= Perfection!

The most amazing part of the evening!!!!! So fun =)

Sneak... their wedding post is going to be massive =)

I recently had a friend ask me how I manage to narrow down my blog posts,

and this wedding threw me for a loop in narrowing down my fav images for the blog :)

in a good way of course!

Usually I upload my weddings (& always back them up immediately!!!)

and then I will cull (*photo term for sorting through and picking your best/fav images)

and note which images I am going to blog (via Lightroom), then export my lil heart out.

Well usually I narrow it down to 60 or so images and then edit from there what I want to blog,

with Jordan & Steph's Wedding I ended up having 200+ favorites. Umm. Seriously!

So its taking me alot longer to narrow down my favs, and I have a feeling its still going to be a massive blog post! But what better way to start off 2010?!

But I wanted to post a lil glimpse of the beautiful Bride & Groom!

Alana & Brandon

I spent the day with Alana & Brandon @ LACMA in Los Angeles (obviously ;) ),

It was actually my first time there {shamefully hangs head}

and it was AHHH.MAZZZ.ING!

Alana & Brandon frequent the museums & they wanted to have their shoot reflect them,

so LACMA was the perfect spot for their session =)

Alana is due with their lil bundle of boy any day now but she was such a trooper,

squatting (yes I had her squat), laying down, going up stairs, going down stairs,

seriously Alana you are fabulous!!!

It was so sweet hearing them talk about him, and seeing the excitement in their faces =)

a.dor.able. simply adorable.

I know you two are going to be the best parents for lil Geronimo:)

Summer & Andy

A lil backstory for you lovelies... my middle name is Summer. Not Rose.

Most people think its a Southern thing (or something?!) like Ashley-Rose,

but its not :) Rose is my last name. Any who... my husband always calls me by my middle name.

Usually Summee! So upon meeting Summer I immediately wanted to call her Summeeeeeee :)

But I refrained ; ) even though Summer said I could call her that!

Andy & Summer are OOC (a la Rachel Zoe)

So unbelievably photogenic, such a beautiful couple, and so sweet together!

We had so much fun roaming around newport beach

finding hidden urban nooks to shoot in :)

A Holiday Bulldog (Reindeer)

So as promised here is the cutest reindeer ever =)

lol. okay not really. but comical none the less!

I swear our children are going to hate us (mainly me) for my photo shoots,

our dog is already over them. Seriously over them.

I lost count of how many treats it took for him to sit still & let me cover him with lights...

but all in all I think it turned out pretty successful for a 5 minute photo shoot :)

I think he makes a nice addition to Santa's crew!!!

Several weeks ago I had the lovely joy of shooting a wedding with ALA of The Modern Type :)

We always have so much fun shooting together & she is such an encouraging photographer,

I am blessed to have her as a friend!

Stephanie and Jeff were married @ the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes!

Its absolutely stunning

and Jeff & Steph couldn't have been sweeter, nicer, and just flat our fabulous!

Fa La La La La...

I have a couple lil holiday post blogs coming to the blog this week =) hooray!

So to start off some paperie.

Well it may be uber boring,

but I thought it would be fun to share our Holiday Cards this year!

I truly wish I had more time to work on them this year,

but over a glass (who am i kidding, several glasses) of wine one night I put these

lil guys together =) and was pleasantly surprised with the end result!
