In-N-Out Wedding

So I am blogging about something that I get a lot of emails about from other brides.
It’s hilarious but I love that I can help out other brides
who want to have IN-N-OUT at their wedding =)
The hubs and I were married in June 2008 (eeek, almost 2 years! Time flies)
And we really didn’t like planning a traditional wedding.
We knew early on that we wanted people to
Eat, drink and be Merry!
So immediately we started planning the menu and poof we decided we would have the
IN-N-OUT Truck at our wedding.
Now I know I am certainly not the 1st nor the last bride to do this
but I was shocked to find out that their isn’t that much info about this anywhere on the internet
for brides!

I had a lovely blog feature our wedding, which has in turn generated all the IN-N-OUT brides to me for questions. ;) So to be more helpful here are some answers for you gals!

How much did this cost?

The trailer costs $1250.00 (minimum amount)
to rent out. $500 deposit to hold your date.
You can check out all the specifics here! And a sample contract here!

Did you allow your guest a choice in their meal?

Yes we did. Since I am a planner I still sent meal choices with our RSVP card. Their choices were:

Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Grilled Cheese, Double Double

And they were instructed to write in the quantity for each that they wanted =)
In-n-Out did not require quantities from us; it was purely to ease my mind! Once we had the final quantities I called our IN-N-OUT coordinator and told them what our quantities were thus far.

Did you only have BURGERS to eat?

Nope. Grilled Cheese too! And see below!

Did you hire another caterer?

Yes. We ended up hiring another caterer because we wanted to give our guests some side dishes.
The Truck only makes burgers (sadly no fries) so we had to find a caterer who would let us just order side dishes and appetizers. Not an easy fete!

But CONTEMPORARY CATERING came to our rescue!
Nathaniel was awesome and was able to completely customize a wedding menu (of sides!) for us.
We had:
Appetizers- Mac & Cheese Squares, Ahi Tuna Tartar, Petite Bruschetta, and Skewers of Grilled and Sliced Steak
Sides: 4 types of salads
French Fry bar (complete in lil mini cones!) with a ton of different sauces and seasonings you could request!

We also had a dessert and candy bar – but that was provided by: VANILLA BAKE SHOP (amazing as well)

How fast was the service/How long were they at the wedding?

We had 150 guests at our wedding and it took 45 mins to serve everyone. This is an order as you type deal, so I think that is pretty quick =) We had guests go through the stations (and truck) like a buffet style set up!
You are allotted 1 1/2 hours of service time with the truck, we had them at our wedding from 7-8.30pm to serve dinner (we had a 5pm ceremony time)

Did you have leftover food?

Since you pay the minimum amount to have the truck we were nervous we would go over this budget fast, but we actually ended up still having $300 in burgers that could have been eaten.
We didn’t take anything home or anything, and couldn’t get the money (since that was just hitting the minimum amount) but I felt better knowing!

Where did you have the truck located?

Of course its going to be different based on your venue’s layout. But ours was situated in a courtyard right near the reception area. So our coordinator would dismiss each table and then they would line up and place their order with the truck! I also had a little station set up that had info on the IN-N-OUT secret menu so that they could order their food however they wanted =)

How did your guests like this?

This was by far one of the best things we could have done for our wedding. I can’t tell you how many people told me that they “usually didn’t eat at weddings, since they hated the food!” but they were thrilled that they got to have IN-N-OUT! Since who doesn’t like IN-N-OUT?!

And our French fry bar was a huge hit too!!! =) it just made everything feel fun and not snooty or pretentious. It was very US. =)

Please feel free to email me if I didn’t answer your question! (Ashley@ashleyrosephotography.com)

But I hope this was helpful!

We're totally going to do this for our wedding. Thanks for showing a great way to execute it! We're considering using Contemporary Catering as well. You loved them? Thanks- Stefanie
